The suffering will end. Rumor has it the Real champions of the BNYISL that took
a one year sabbitical is poised to return for the 2010 season. Several of the
team managers has been spotted at various DPL games in Jamaica. The
"English fellow" is also in contact with freinds across the pond about
bring over some "english talents.

I have one question for Putt. When was Baldwin a big team? Dynamics ok, two
years with some recycled ballers good showing. Baldwin never won a mug, one
supercup finals not enough to stamp any claim. Of all the "new" teams
Arantes have been around the longest,not counting the original teams like
Upsetters/Unity/Mand ela/Negus/Kandia and they will be aroung years to come!

football is business and should be operated as such, we therefore should
elect successful business individuals. people with visions, people who can
represent the league and implements viable programs which will enhance and
develope the league. In our league we may have a few die hard soccer fans,
it's unlike Jamaica leagues where fans are die hearted to their local
base teams, here in new york because we dont have that kind of community
fan base we must give the football fans good products,like Mandela , Dynamics
and Baldwin . the lesson learnt from this season, when we are lacking the
right ingredient the products must suffer and people will stop buying, in
our case fans will stop supporting as they use to. the bottom line people want
to see attractive football. the fans pay to see good football the teams
must be generously rewarded financially.

The league need Mandela and the rest of the big teams. This year was not an
exciting or good year for the Bronx League. The Executive Board and the big
teams need to put aside their differences and make the league better next year.
The league owe it to the fans and the teams, bring back that exciting and higher

unprogressive organization around, they are the one who help put ivor in
as president and always want to get rid of Mandela, because that's the

Can the league get any worst? Arantes won and can't even get a trophy, but then
again it's not the first time Arantes has won this year and not get the trophy
(Super Cup). Did Dynasty hand over it yet "RUDE BWOY". Arantes and the
BNYISL you deserve each other. Is the league hold a presentation dinner to give
out awards? As bad as the previous executives where they made sure you get a
trophy and atleast a little money to show for your efforts. Let me guess Ivor

Finally after all these years looks like Arantes can finally win the BNYISL.
COme to think about it. If you win did you really win? I mean you played all
those games against Mandela United and lost. In my book to be the champion you
have to beat the champion. If you beat the Kandia Girls would that be reason to

I must agree with you. The park is boring. I have not gone to a game all
season and it the pure fact that looking at the schedule there is nothing that
catches my eye for me to go. I am really enjoying my summer, spending time with
friends and family. It was great to see quite a few people at the Valley
tournament a couple of weeks ago. There was probably more people there than any
league game this season. wish everyone luck in there endeavors and hopefully
sometime in the near future some people would see the error of their ways and do
the right thing and step aside and let those with good senses rule.

I just got a chance to read all the blogs, large up yuh self, hahahahahaha, you

I was at PENNS only to see Asafa flop again. I need to know what time him
running again next year so I can take a rest room break then. I enjoyed my past
seasons in the Bronx as a Executive member and a fan of the league. This year it
reminds of the Sunday morning ball that I used to play (spend more time with the
wife now) total waste of my toll money. Just keep me informed and trust mi, if
you can think of a good game, tell me and I will be there. Some of them bloggers
don't like your opinions, but you and I know that they know you are not lying.

I have distanced myself from the leaguie all-together. My two teams are not
involved anymore (Dynamic and Uniondale). Just so you know its Queens Liberty
United that is playing under Uniondales' name. I must confess that Mandela made
me visit the park when I was really bored. There is no way I am paying any toll
just to watch a BNYISL game unless I have other reasons to be in the Bronx. I
still enjoy the chatter here, but as I said there is nothing for me to say as my
teams are not involved and I am loyal to the teams that I support. Have a great
summer one and all; and for those who can stomach the, well, do enjoy

You get what you voted for. As they say in computing world.....GIGO - Garbage
In Garbage Out.....The league was always a joke but it's an even BIGGER joke
this season. You have individuals with limited people and organization skills
on the Executive Board. These same individuals lack the vision, foresight and
talent to harness individual and community support to benefit the Bronx New York
International Soccer League. I've said this before and I will say it again
"the league's downfall will and always going to be the 'EGOS' of not only
the Executive Board but the representative clubs. Hope everyone is having a
"Mandelerous" ; summer. I certainly am.

I have been a long time supporter of the league and I am officially not coming
back. The league has become a joke : game times have been shortened, teams not
showing up with full teams, people not coming to watch games, no photo gallery,
schedules never updated, point standings not updated, red card updates not
there, game reports very late, and stupid cross over games that are not set
because no one knows what the hell is going on...

I watched the Unity vs Uniondale game while warming up behind the goal closest
to the entrance and I can say that Unity played very well. 2-1 to a team that
made the playoffs last year isnt so bad.

And also to the #11 I think that
it's good that you want to stay and make a team better. Others talk but they
have no idea how hard it is to have 11 men do their role for 90 minutes, up and
down the field.

But now that we know who Q-Ban is we wil all watch the #11 on
Unity and see if he can actually make any team in the league.... no pressure

How is a league supposed to be better when the best teams are not participating?
Could someone share some light into that? I’m not affiliated with any teams or
was apart of any team in the BNYISL, however; it seem like the league is going
downhill or it’s probably already at the bottom of the hill. I don’t believe
that anyone hates the executives; I think they hate the product that they are
producing. Let the past be the past. The current non-quality of teams in the
league will not only minimize fan interest but will eventually diminish the
league to a even lower standard that what Mr. Putt call a George Bush League. At
least when Mandela & Dynamic was there other teams would try to find quality
players to field. Now you are just going to have the Dyre barber & taxi crew Vs
the the 214 warmongers vs the Memorial field idlers.

lot of good local players out there. It seems like you all are bashing the

Welcome back the Sports Reporter. Good to finally have another who tells it
like it is. Reporter atleast you drove past the park. Really there is no game
that is of interest to watch. Again, let's thank the new/old executive board
members for killing soccer in the Bronx as we know it. I would not enter the
park even when they are letting people in FREE. I thought about watching
through the fence but on second that I would rather watch paint dry than waste
my time and go watch a bunch of pick up sides play on a Saturday and Sunday.

Hey Shawn, the league is way worse than ever. I drove by last sunday and there
wasn't 50 people in the stands. Keep in mind that over 70 players enter the park
each day. And Shawn, please don't comment about he park being a safe
environment. It never was and never will be, but at least we used to watch good
football. The same way you want to take credit for the park being safe, please
take credit for the empty stands that you will be seeing this year, thanks to

How safe is the park really? Yes you get search and at one point they use to

I look forward going to Evander on weekends during the summer to watch soccer
now. Does anyone remember the days, early 1980s to mid 1990s when soccer was
being played at Evander. We were not able to sit and enjoy a game. We had to
watch around for bottles throwing, dogging bullets, hoping the smoke dectector
doesn't go off with the smoke from the marijuana being smoked. Thanks to the

check your website for up dates only to find that there is never any new
information form week to week or even month to month. The new season is up on us
and still there is no schedule posted. There are hints that some teams might not
return, but we do not know wish. Whats up with that?

I believe the website
has the potential of developing fan intrest and posible bringing more people to

mandela united is the best team ever played in the league, but mandela never
played the best football, I would never video a mandela game. they are
talented
but not entertaining to watch. therefore it's not possible to video a
mandela game, who elce. if you want the league to improve you must have
profesional people with ball knowledge as executives and you must have qualify

Well the league is now up for grabs the two "big" teams
have both dropped out due to the unsavoury way in which they
were treated. So now I guess the so called "mid size
" teams may not even bother to sure themselves up
as they have nothing to beat so will local talent prevail

Mandela Fan - Hard/Foul Language

I am having a hard time understanding the guideline outlined below the FAN
COMMENTS. If I say Ivor caused Mandela to not be participating in the BNYISL
would that be considered a personal attack? I know what foul language is but
can someone explain to me what is or considered "hard language"?

I doubt Dr.Phil can can take any more drama from the state Madea left him in.So
I guess we have nothing good to look forward to this year besides the possible
omission of Mandela. I hope they get some good teams because I won’t be paying
to watch some pick up sides. Mr president can you guys update the home page with
current event & let the fans know what we can look forward to this year.

UNKNOWN don't even know about the league. I am deeply depress because I heard
Mandela is not in the league this year. I have schedule some time with Dr. Phil
to talk about my issues. UNKNOWN it's the same set of people on the board. As
usual the team owners just shuffle the cabinet.

Mandela fan welcome back. does anyone know what's going on in the league? any
news or updates? which team are playing or not.I heard they have some new people
in the board. the league soon start, how nobody nah mek no noise in the "fan
